This European standard specifies safety requirements and test methods for laboratory tables, includingmobile laboratory tables, and provides recommendations regarding its dimensions.This European standard is applicable to laboratory tables, mobile tables and shelves of laboratory tables, for usein research laboratories, teaching, quality control and similar.This European standard does not apply to laboratory tables for students in scientific classrooms of schools. Eitherto laboratory tables for special applications, such as, for example, heavy diagnostics or process machinery.It must be taken into account that compliance with the established requirements does not mean that failures cannot occuras a result of continued misuse or after periods of excessive use. The tests have been designed to be carried out on an independent laboratory table, completely assembled and ready foruse.This European standard does not include requirements and test methods related to fire safety oflaboratory tables, nor with the resistance of the work Surface.
