The IEC 62386 series specifies a bus system for control by digital signals of electronic lighting equipment.
The methodology of load shedding focuses on curtailment of electric loads during peak demand times thus avoiding the requirement to find new sources of generation capacity for peak demand. This is also known as Demand Response . By utilizing load shed, the lighting system responds to the demands of the energy supply. This part of IEC 62386 is applicable to control gear supporting load shed functionality.
