Provides guidance conditions and methods for conducting exposures of metals and alloys to surface sea water so that meaningful comparisons may be taken for different locations. Applicable to exposure areas from above water level which are wet for a significant period (splash and tidal zones), to a depth where the composition of sea water is similar to that at the surface.
