The International standard specifies safety requirements and the means of their verification for the highlyautomated operation of agricultural tractors, tractor implement systems, implements and self-propelledmachinery during agricultural open field operations. In addition, it specifies the type of information on safeworking practices including information about residual risks to be provided by the manufacturer.The purpose of the standard is to provide safety requirements and means of verification to ensure anappropriate level of safety for tractors and machines with functions allowing highly automated operations.This document deals with significant hazards, hazardous situations and events, as listed in Annex A, relevantto agricultural and forestry tractors and self-propelled machines allowing highly automated field operationswhen used as intended and under the conditions of misuse foreseeable by the manufacturer during normaloperation and service.NOTE For other safety requirements not related to highly automated functions, see machine specif ic safetystandards.This document is not applicable to-¾ð forestry applications;-¾ð mobile, semi-mobile or stationary machinery used for farm yard or barn operations;-¾ð design and safety specification of braking and steering systems;-¾ð operations on public roads.NOTE With respect to implements (their specif ic design, functions, etc.) and the communicat ion betw een tractors andimplements addit ional risks can be relevant and can require addit ional measures . Operations and r isks excluded f rom thescope can be subject of a future standard.When requirements of this international standard are different from those which are stated in a machinespecific standard, the requirements of the machine specific standard take precedence over the requirementsof this international standard.This document is not applicable to agricultural and forestry tractors and self-propelled machines with functionsallowing highly automated field operations which are manufactured before the date of its publication.
