Defines a gravimetric method for determining the amount of matter which can be extracted by acetone, at a temperature close to its boiling point, from a sample of finely divided phenolic moulding material. Applicable solely to moulding materials based on novolak resins - not those based on resols, which may not be completely soluble in acetone. ALSO NUMBERED AS BS 2782-4: METHOD 451C: 1998
