La norma specifica un metodo per determinare la resa elastica di gomme vulcanizzate, in una singola e ben definita condizione di distribuzione delle deformazioni e della loro variazione nel tempo per mezzo di qualsiasi apparecchiatura di forma e grandezze definite. Il metodo è applicabile a gomme vulcanizzate, la cui durezza, alla temperatura di prova, sia compresa tra 30 IRHD e 85 IRHD.
