La specifica tecnica definisce le procedure per l'ottenimento di informazioni sui prodotti di degradazione termica generati a seguito di saldatura, taglio, prodotti preriscaldati e addrizzati costituiti parzialmente o totalmente da sostanze organiche come, ad esempio, shop primers, vernici, adesivi, cere, sigillanti, lubrificanti, oli, ecc. La specificazione è indirizzata principalmente ai laboratori di prova che svolgono questo tipo di procedure.
