La specifica tecnica tratta i requisiti di interfaccia/sistema a corto raggio (Short Range - SR). I sistemi SR utilizzano un'interfaccia che permette all'apparecchiatura di rilevamento di attivare alcune funzioni per il recupero del veicolo dopo il furto (After Theft Systems for Vehicle Recovery - ATSVR) quando il veicolo è direttamente visibile.
