La specifica tecnica descrive dei metodi manuali e meccanici, per raccogliere campioni di combustibili solidi secondari per esempio da impianti di produzione, sia da rifiuti in entrata che da materiale immagazzinato. Non è applicabile ai combustibili solidi secondari sotto forma di liquido o di fango ma include il fango disidratato.
