La specifica tecnica descrive un metodo di prova per determinare le caratteristiche intrinseche della difrazione sonora e dei dispositivi aggiuntivi installati alla sommita dei dispositivi per la riduzione del rumore da traffico stradale. Il metodo di prova prescrive la misurazione dei livelli di pressione sonora in diversi punti di riferimento con o senza i dispositivi aggiuntivi.
