La norma tratta tutti i pericoli significativi, le situazioni e gli eventi pericolosi pertinenti alle troncatrici e alle troncatrici con pianetto progettate per tagliare legno massiccio, pannelli di particelle, pannelli di fibra, compensato e anche i materiali con bordature di materia plastica e/o rivestimenti di laminato di materia plastica o di leghe leggere, quando esse sono utilizzate come previsto e nelle condizioni previste dal fabbricante compreso l'utilizzo improprio ragionevolmente prevedibile.
