The standard applies to alarm systems for all types of lifts for the transport of people and goods, in particular for those treated by the series of standards UNI EN 81. The standard also deals with the minimum information to be provided as part of the manual of instruction on maintenance and rescue service. The standard addresses the following significant danger related to lifts, when used as intended and under the conditions indicated by the installer / manufacturer: entrapment of users due to improper lift operation. The standard does not apply to alarm systems used for requests for help in other cases, such as, for example, heart attack and request for information. The UNI EN 81 70 provides additional requirements for people with disabilities.
