La norma specifica un metodo per la determinazione simultanea della concentrazione di attività di vari radionuclidi, contenuti in campioni d'acqua, che emettono radiazioni gamma con energie comprese tra 40 keV e 2 MeV per mezzo della spettrometria gamma, utilizzando rivelatori al germanio ad alta risoluzione in combinazione con un analizzatore multicanale.
