La norma specifica il metodo dell'anello per la determinazione della tensione superficiale delle dispersioni del polimero e lattici di gomma (naturale e sintetica). Il metodo è valido per le dispersioni del polimero e dei lattici di gomma con viscosità minore di 200 mPaxs. Per ottenere ciò, la dispersione o il lattice sono diluiti con acqua ad una frazione di massa di solidi totali del 40%. Se necessario, il contenuto di solidi è ulteriormente ridotto per garantire che la viscosità sia inferiore al limite specificato. Il metodo è adatto anche per lattici prevulcanizzati e formulati.
