Specifica le caratteristiche che devono avere i depositi elettrolitici (ad uno strato, a due strati o a più strati) di oro e delle sue leghe per applicazioni elettriche, elettroniche e per altre applicazioni industriali sui materiali metallici e non metallici. Nel caso di rivestimenti a due o più strati i requisiti di spessore si riferiscono al rivestimento di or complessivo mentre i requisiti sul contenuto di oro si riferiscono ad ogni singolo strato. Non si applica a rivestimenti su filettature (vedere ISO 4042) o a rivestimenti su lamiere o nastri nella forma non lavorata.
