Das Verfahren nach dieser Norm dient dazu, den Ätzabtrag an kristallinen Siliciumscheiben für die Photovoltaik im Zustand "as cut" zu bestimmen. Mit diesem Ätzverfahren wird der auf der Scheibenoberfläche im Drahttrenn-Läpp-Prozess erzeugte Damagebereich chemisch weitestgehend entfernt.
