Dieser Teil von IEC 60079 enthält die Anforderungen an Geräte, Systeme und die Errichtungspraxis bei der Anwendung mit dem Fieldbus Intrinsically Safe Concept (FISCO). Er basiert auf den Konzepten von Manchester-kodierten busgespeisten Systemen, die in Übereinstimmung mit IEC 61158-2, dem "physical layer standard" für Feldbus-Installationen, gestaltet sind.
