Diese Norm gilt allgemein für Fernmeldeanlagen im Einflussbereich von Starkstromanlagen. Wegen des Anwendungsbereiches für die verschiedenen Arten von Starkstromanlagen wird auf DIN VDE 0228 Teil 2, Teil 3, Teil 4 und Teil 5 verwiesen. Als Starkstromanlagen werden im Rahmen dieser Normen behandelt: a) Drehstromanlagen in DIN VDE 0228 Teil 2 b) Wechselstrom-Bahnanlagen in DIN VDE 0228 Teil 3 c) Gleichstrom-Bahnanlagen in DIN VDE 0228 Teil 4 d) Hochspannungs-Gleichstrom-Übertragungsanlagen (HGÜ) in DIN VDE 0228 Teil 5. Zu den Fernmeldeanlagen gehören alle Fernmeldeleitungen sowie die technischen Einrichtungen nach DIN VDE 0800 Teil 1 einschliesslich der Fernwirkanlagen. Für Trägerfrequenzverbindungen auf Fernmeldeleitungen gilt diese Norm nur hinsichtlich einer Gefährdungsmöglichkeit. Ausgenommen von dieser Norm sind Funkanlagen. Massnahmen zum Vermeiden einer unmittelbaren Berührung zwischen Teilen der Fernmelde- und der Starkstromanlagen durch zweckentsprechenden Bau sind in DIN VDE 0210, DIN VDE 0211 und DIN VDE 0800 Teil 1 angegeben.
