Diese Norm legt die detaillierte Klassifizierung der Familie N (Isolierflüssigkeiten), die zur Klasse L (Schmierstoffe, Industrieöle und verwandte Erzeugnisse) gehört, in Übereinstimmung mit ISO 8681 (erste Ausgabe 11/1986) und ISO 6743-99 (erste Ausgabe 08/2002), fest. Dies betrifft Erzeugniskategorien, die Erzeugnisse aus der Mineralöl-Verarbeitung, aus synthetischen chemischen Erzeugnissen, synthetischen und natürlich vorkommenden Estern enthalten.
