Diese Norm legt Begriffe, Anforderungen und Prüfungen fest, die für Prüfgeräte zum Feststellen der elektrischen Sicherheit von elektrischen Betriebsmitteln nach Instandsetzung oder Änderung nach den Normen der Reihe DIN VDE 0701 oder bei wiederkehrenden Prüfungen nach DIN VDE 0105 Teil 1 gelten. Diese Norm gilt nicht für Prüfgeräte zum Feststellen der elektrischen Sicherheit von elektrischen Betriebsmitteln für die Stückprüfung beim Hersteller und nicht für die Typprüfung. Hierfür gelten die Festlegungen in den entsprechenden Normen.
