Diese Rahmenspezifikation ist gemeinsam mit der Fachgrundspezifikation EN 50117-1 für Koaxialkabel in Kabelverteilanlagen für Frequenzen von 30 MHz bis 862 MHz anzuwenden. Diese Rahmenspezifikation gilt für Hausanschlusskabel. Zweck dieser Norm ist es, Werte und Eigenschaften der Kabel festzulegen und die anzuwendenden Prüfungen aus der Fachgrundspezifikation auszuwählen. Es wird auf geeignete Gütebestätigungsverfahren hingewiesen. Die Numerierung der Abschnitte entspricht der der Fachgrundspezifikation. Wenn in dieser Rahmenspezifikation nicht anders festgelegt, sind alle Abschnitte der Fachgrundspezifikation anwendbar. Es sind in dieser Norm alle Abweichungen von der Fachgrundspezifikation aufgeführt.
