Diese Rahmenspezifikation ist gemeinsam mit der EN 50117-1 für Koaxialkabel in Kabelverteilsystemen anzuwenden. Diese Rahmenspezifikation gilt für Hausanschlusskabel in Netzwerken (z. B. SMATV) mit einem Betriebsfrequenzbereich von 5 MHz bis 2150 MHz. Zweck dieser Norm ist es, Werte und Eigenschaften der Kabel festzulegen und die anzuwendenden Prüfungen aus der Fachgrundspezifikation auszuwählen. Es wird auf geeignete Qualitätsbewertungsverfahren hingewiesen. Die Benummerung der Abschnitte entspricht der Fachgrundspezifikation. Wenn in dieser Rahmenspezifikation nicht anders festgelegt, sind alle Abschnitte der Fachgrundspezifikation anwendbar. Es sind in dieser Spezifikation alle Abweichungen von der Fachgrundspezifikation aufgeführt.
