Dieser Teil der IEC 60793 legt einheitliche Anforderungen für die Prüfung der mechanischen Kennwerte zum Nachweis von Faserringeln oder latenter Krümmung bei unbeschichteten Lichtwellenleitern fest. Faserringeln wurde bei der Anwendung von passiven Justier-Schmelzspleisseinrichtungen oder aktiven Justier-Masseschmelzspleisseinrichtungen als ein wichtiger Parameter für die Herabsetzung der Spleissdämpfung ermittelt.
