Le test proposé permet d'évaluer en conditions controlées l'éventuelle phytotoxicité d'un support de culture vis-à-vis de la croissance de jeunes plantes, dans des conditions proches d'une utilisation normale d'un support de culture destiné aux cultures en pot, en conteneur ou pour le marché 'amateurs'. Il n'est pas adapté aux supports de culture conditionnés en blocs, utilisés en cultures maraîchères hors sol.
