    Specifies preservative coating for the protection of natural or synthetic rubber items such as tires, track pads, bogey wheels, gaskets, hoses, and others.

    This commercial item description (CID) covers preservative coating for the protection of natural or synthetic rubber items such as tires, track pads, bogey wheels, gaskets, hoses and others. Its purpose is to eliminate deterioration due to oxidation, ultraviolet light and ozone. The material can be used where solvent vapor is not a hazard. The preservative is suitable where storage temperatures may be below 32°F. It is intended for spray, brush or dip application. The preservative coating is also referred to herein as “preservative.
