Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Applies to cables having two conductors (single-core) or four conductors (3-core) with a non-metallic oversheath. XLPE insulation is specified for the phase conductors and V-90 PVC for the cable oversheath. The cables are intended primarily for use by electricity authorities.

Scope - (Show below) - (Hide below)

This standard specifies the construction, dimensions and tests for concentric wire neutral crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated cables having aluminium core conductors and consisting of two conductors (single core) or four conductors (3-core) and an insulating sheath, primarily for use by electricity supply authorities, at working voltages up to and including 0.6/1 kV.NOTES:1. Cables covered by this standard should not be used in electrical installations unless approval has been obtained from the appropriate Regulatory Authority.2. This standard does not apply to neutral screened cables provided for in AS 3155.3. For purchasing purposes, guidance on information to be supplied with enquiry and order is given in Appendix F.
