Specifies grid systems for printed circuits to facilitate interchangeability of components for mounting on printed circuit boards. Two grid systems are specified, one on a 2.54 mm grid and the other on a 0.1 mm grid extended in both directions. The Standard is technically identical with IEC Publication 97:1970.

This specification applies to the spacings of grid systems for printed circuits to ensure dimensional compatability between the printed circuits and parts to be mounted on them at the intersections of the grid.
