General rules are given for scaffold materials, for classes and types of scaffolds and placement of loads, for scaffold erection generally and for bracing and tying, while particular recommendations are given for putlog, independent, birdcage, tower and mobile scaffolds, and for access, barrows runs and ramps, spur scaffolds and hung scaffolds, ladder access towers, and scaffolds on cantilever beams. Hazards are dealt with and recommendations on the care of scaffolding materials are also given. The Code is extensively illustrated.
