Specifies requirements for the regular maintenance, including inspection and testing procedures, for fire detection and alarm systems designed and installed in accordance with AS 1670. Maintenance procedures are given for three levels of service, weekly, monthly, and yearly. Appendices set out requirements for fire detectors, and the formats required for logbook reports and detector test records.

This standard sets out requirements for the regular maintenance of automatic fire detection and alarm systems designed and installed in accordance with AS 1670. Regular maintenance includes inspection and testing procedures.Although this standard has direct relevance to systems designed and installed in accordance with AS 1670, the Standard may be used as a basis for maintenance of other automatic fire detection and alarm systems.
