    Provides recommendations for pavements associated with housing developments. Guidelines are given for pavement designs on well-drained, naturally occurring subgrades which do not include reactive soil sites. References are made to pavements of concrete, segmental paving units, asphalt and bituminous spray seal.

    This Guide provides guidelines for the selection and construction of pavements associated with residential buildings consisting of single houses or multiple dwellings in medium density housing development. It does not apply to the design and construction of pavements in public roads or streets.This Guide does not preclude the use of any of the following:(a) Methods and materials of pavement construction not referred to in this Guide.(b) Locally proved designs.(c) Pavements designed by a chartered professional engineer.NOTE: The purpose of this Guide is to provide recommendations for pavements, normally associated with housing. Industrial pavements are not covered by this Guide. Roads and streets should comply with the requirements of the relevant authorities.
