Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Specifies minimum requirements and gives procedural guidance for the rewinding and rebuilding of rotating electrical machines of 180 W to 400 kW with a rated voltage not exceeding 1000 volt a.c. or 1500 volt d.c.

Scope - (Show below) - (Hide below)

This Standard specifies minimum requirements for the rewinding and rebuilding of low voltage rotating electrical machines in the range 180 W (VA) to 400 kW (kVA).NOTE: For other ratings additional measures may be required. The Standard describes record keeping, tests, analysis and general guidelines for the repair of electrical generators and motors. It may be supplemented by specific instructions or specifications of the customer or the machine manufacturer. The Standard does not include requirements for certification or inspection of explosion-proof, dust-ignition-proof or other machines for hazardous locations; nor does it include specific or additional requirements for hermetic motors, hydrogen-cooled machines, submersible motors, nuclear service motors or traction motors.NOTE: Information to be supplied with enquiries and orders for repair or overhaul of machines is given in Appendix A.
