This Standard specifies material and design requirements for silica glass beads with retroreflective properties, which are intended for use in road-marking materials. It applies to glass beads intended to improve the visibility of road-marking materials by reflecting the headlight beams of vehicles under night-time conditions.NOTES: 1 Alternative methods of determining compliance with this Standard are given in Appendix A.2 Guidance on sampling is given in Appendix B.3 Additional information on the types of glass beads available for use with road-marking materials is given in Appendix C.
