Specifies electrical safety requirements, to be read in conjunction with NZS/AS 3100. Applies to spa-bath, spa pool and swimming pool pumps, heaters, blowers, chlorinators, chemical injection equipment, and control equipment. Does not apply to luminaires, nor to equipment for aquariums (see AS/NZS 3192) or fountains. Note: Further regulatory requirements apply; consult NZECP 2, issued by the Chief Electrical Inspector, Ministry of Commerce.

This Standard applies to electrical equipment for use with spa-baths and spa and swimming pools, which are intended for operation at low voltage.The following are examples of electrical equipment to which this Standard is applicable:(a) Spa and swimming pool heaters.(b) Pool chlorinators.(c) Automatic chemical injection equipment.(d) Spa and swimming pool control equipment.This Standard does not apply to the following:(i) Spa and swimming pool luminaires.(ii) Equipment for use with aquariums and fountains.(iii) Appliances and equipment within the scopes of AS/NZS 3350.2.41 or AS/NZS 3350.2.60.
