Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

CONTAINED IN VOL. 08.04, 2018 Defines requirements and test methods for fabricated poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) plastic schedule 40 drainage and DWV fittings to be used with piping manufactured in accordance with Specification D 2665 or F 891.

Scope - (Show below) - (Hide below)

1.1This specification covers requirements and test methods for fabricated poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) plastic schedule 40 drainage and DWV fittings to be used with piping manufactured in accordance with Specifications D2665 or F891. These fabricated fittings are manufactured from pipe, or from a combination of pipe and injection molded parts.

1.2The requirements of this specification are to provide fabricated PVC fittings suitable for drainage and venting of sanitary waste systems, storm water systems, and certain other liquid wastes. Fittings shall have solvent cement joints, gasket joints or a combination thereof.

1.3The text of this specification references notes, footnotes, and appendixes that provide explanatory material. These notes and footnotes (excluding those in tables and figures) shall not be considered as requirements of the specification.

1.4The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are provided for information only.

1.5The following safety hazards caveat pertains only to the test method portion, Section 10, of this specification. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

1.6This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
