Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Gives requirements for the construction, dimensions, testing and marking of the woven fabric reinforced, woven fabric reinforced with embedded wire helix and braided textile reinforced hoses used for coupling rigid metal pipes, carrying aviation fuel or engine oil of either mineral of synthetic di-ester type, in aircraft. Suitable for use at continuous working temperatures from -40 Degrees C up to 100 Degrees C and a maximum working pressures of a quarter of the specified minimum bursting pressure.

Scope - (Show below) - (Hide below)

This British Standard specifies the requirements for the construction, dimensions, testing and marking of the following three types of hose used for coupling rigid metal pipes, carrying aviation fuel or engine oil of either mineral or synthetic di-ester type, in aircraft.

    • Type 1. Woven fabric reinforced hose.
    • Type 2. Woven fabric reinforced hose with embedded wire helix.
    • Type 3. Braided textile reinforced hose.

The hose is suitable for use at continuous working temperatures from – 40 °C up to 100 °C and at maximum working pressures of a quarter of the specified minimum bursting pressure. At higher temperatures the service life would be progressively shortened.
