Gives recommendations for calculating the fire resistance of timber framed walls and partitions and joisted floors as an alternative to testing. Applies to double and single leaf walls and partitions; and to floors in which the joists are partly or fully concealed. Applies to non-loadbearing wall and partition constructions where the actual stud sizes are not less than 48 mm x 37 mm (depth x breadth) and to loadbearing wall and partition constructions where actual stud sizes are not less than 62 mm x 37 mm (depth x breadth). Also applies to joisted fire floor constructions where there is a 37 mm actual joist breadth. Only covers constructions with a fire resistance requirement of 1 hour or less. Includes detailed definitions.
