    Describes recommendations for design, installation, maintenance and safety of Halon 1301 total flooding fire extinguishing systems in buildings or plant. System consists of an installation to convey Halon 1301 from storage containers for protection of particular plant or parts of premises against fire risk. Gives data on characteristics of Halon 1301 and types of fire for which it is suitable. Excludes design of explosion suppression systems. Describes two methods of operation: manual and automatic. Gives advice on selection of a system and on operational method; also provides detailed recommendations on design, maintenance and efficient operation of installations.
