Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Explains two methods for the assessment of adhesion to and corrosion of metals by vulcanized rubber. Method A is for rubber vulcanizates in direct contact with a metal and method B for when the effect of volatile materials from vulcanizates are considered. Method A is intended to be used as the routine quality assurance procedure for assessing the adhesion to and corrosion of metals by rubber vulcanizates, whereas method B, which requires considerable expertise, is intended as a type test and better suited for compound design and development.
