Specifies requirements for the performance of locking systems fitted to all closures through which access may be gained to secure load compartments of goods vehicles. Applies only to vehicles with fully enclosed load carrying areas.

This Part of BS AU 209 specifies requirements for the performance of locking systems fitted to all closures through which access may be granted to secure load compartments of goods vehicles. It applies to goods vehicles with fully enclosed load carrying areas.
This standard does not apply to vehicles that have been derived from passenger cars, tippers, flatbeds or livestock vehicles, open bodied or curtainsided vehicles, or vehicles that are constructed for specialist business sectors such as the transport of cash or securities.
