Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Applies to fixed ceramic capacitors of dielectric class 2 for shock hazard protection used in mains operated electrical and electronic equipment such as given in IEC 65, Clause 14.2. These capacitors protect against mains originated electrical shock hazard but not necessarily against voltages in an aerial arising from lightning. Does not cover chip capacitors. Excludes radio interference suppression capacitors which are covered by IEC 384-14.
