This British Standard specifies the materials, dimensions and finish of close tolerance shear pins for aircraft, cadmium plated to be suitable for insertion in aluminium alloy materials. Requirements applicable to all pins covered by this standard are stated in Section 1; Sections 2 and 3 contain particular requirements for pins machined from bar and those produced by a cold-heading process.
