With Resolution 87/2016/R/EEL, the Italian Regulatory Authority for Electricity, Gas and Water (AEEGSI) entrusted the Italian Electrotechnical Committee (CEI) with the task of defining a standard protocol for interoperable communication between second-generation (2G) smart electricity meters and end-user devices.
