The Quality Assurance Program Plan (QAPP) will be used as a stand-alone document, but it is intended to be a part of an integrated strategy, including: Manufacturing Management; Software Quality; Reliability; Parts, Materials, and Processes; and other related disciplines. The purpose of the QAPP is to describe how the Quality Management System complies with the program’s contractual requirements and how the contractor ensures products are designed and produced to meet the program’s contractual requirements. The QAPP describes how contractor quality policies and procedures are implemented at the program level. The QAPP contains measurable quality objectives and the metrics by which they are to be measured. The principal use of the QAPP is to provide a detailed description of the contractor’s quality program to be accomplished under the contract with emphasis on the areas described below. a. This Data Item Description (DID) is intended to be compatible with SAE AS9100, Quality Management Systems – Requirements for Aviation, Space, and Defense Organizations.
