Diese Norm gilt für strahlungsempfindliche Materialien einschliesslich Kontaktdiffusionsmaterialien für die Reprographie und Mikrographie, bei denen auf einem Schichtträger (Unterlage) eine Gelatineschicht aufgebracht ist, die Silberhalogenide enthält, im folgenden Silberhalogenidmaterial (S) genannt. Die strahlungsempfindliche Schicht ist für optische Strahlung nach DIN 5031 Teil 7 sensibilisiert. Sie gilt auch für Materialien zur Vorbereitung von Druckverfahren. Diese Norm gilt nicht für Materialien für Offsetdruckverfahren und für Lichtsatz.
