This standard specifies limits of size and tolerances for tapped holes receiving wire thread inserts (“thread
inserts”, for short) designed to provide 2 mm to 52 mm diameter internal threads (coarse and fine pitch screw
threads) having a basic profile as specified in DIN ISO 68-1.
