    Defines Service information (SI) data forming part of DVB/MPEG-2 bitstreams to provide the user with information on selection of services and/or events in the bitstream, and the Integrated Receiver Decoder (IRD) can automatically configure itself for the selected service. It complements the PSI by provision of data aiding automatic tuning of IRDs and additional information intended for display, mainly in text form.
