This standard is a sectional specification of the generic specification JIS C 5101-1 and specifies the fixed unencapsulated multilayer ceramic chip capacitors of class 1 and class 2, with rated voltage not exceeding 200 V. For those of higher rater voltages, some items for testing could be changed in their detail standards. These capacitors are provided with metallized connecting pads or soldering terminals and are to be mounted directly on to substrates for hybrid circuits or on to printed boards.
