General requirements for multiturn lead-screw actuated and single turn nonwire wound, variable resistors with a contact bearing uniformly over the entire surface of the entire resistive element, when positioned by an actuator. Where maximum resistance is engaged, the resistors are capable of full load operation at a maximum ambient temperature of 70 deg.C. and 85 deg.C. They are suitable for continuous operation when properly derated, at a maximum temperature of 120 deg.C. and 150 deg.C. These resistors have a resistance tolerance of + or - 10%
