Sets out the requirements, verification criteria and contractor tasks for electromagnetic effects protection of airborne, ground and support systems, including electromagnetic compatibility, electromagnetic interference, static electricity, lightning, radio frequency compatibility, electrical bonding, electromagnetic pulse and grounding. Applicable for new and modified complete systems and is mandatory for use by the Department of the Air Force. The Standard is primarily for airborne platform use but could be made applicable to any type of system.
