Lays down requirements for long products and flat products of hot rolled non-alloy, base and quality steels. Intended for use in welded, bolted and riveted structures, for service at ambient temperatures. Not intended to be heat treated except products delivered in the delivery condition N. Stress relief annealing if permitted. Products delivered in N condition may be normalized and hot formed after delivery. Does not apply to coated products. Covers definitions, information to be supplied by the purchaser, dimensions, mass and tolerances, classification of qualities, designation, technical requirements, inspection and testing, marking for flat and long products, complaints after delivery and options.
